Ova donation is strictly anonymous both the donors and the receivers, our clinic fully reimburses donors’ costs associated with the donation (travel expenses, accommodation, meals, proven additional costs, time spent at the clinic, discomfort) up to 800€.
CRITERIA TO BE REGISTERED IN A DATABASE:
- age 18 – 33 years
- complete secondary education
- good health condition
- there cannot be any genetic predispositions or psychiatric diseases in the family medical history
Steps to become donor of ova:
- Fill in the online donors form or contact us via email at info@darujtezivot.sk, give us a phone call +421 903 992 626 to agree on the date of your first appointment.
- If you have decided to fill in the online form, our IVF Clinic Coordinator will contact you, explain further procedure and agree on the date of your first appointment at the clinic with you.
- You will have a discussion with a gynaecologist and geneticist at the agreed time. A blood sample will be taken for hormonal, genetic testing and the test of sexually transmitted diseases.
- You may be registered in the donors programme based on the results of the above-mentioned tests.
- Subsequently, we will plan a stimulation cycle, the gynaecologist will prepare your protocol and explain the whole procedure. She/he will also teach how you should apply the stimulating preparation.
- You will self-administer the stimulating preparations for 10 days. You will undergo an ultrasound check-up during the stimulation, based on this check-up the gynaecologist defines the exact time and date to collect ova.
- The collection of ova is done in short general anaesthesia. You can leave the clinic 2 hours after the collection finishes.

REASONS TO BECOME A MALE DONOR
15 – 20% of couples in Slovakia face the problems with sterility. In 30% of the couples, the reason of infertility is with the man only. Some of them have the opportunity to become a parent, if their partner’s ova are fertilized with donated sperm.
Donated sperm is used in all standard methods of assisted reproduction, if male partner’s sperm cannot be used. The donation of sperm is mutually anonymous – both for male donors and the receivers.
CRITERIA TO BE REGISTERED IN A DATABASE:
- age 18 – 35 years
- at least complete secondary education
- good health condition
- high parameters of spermogram
- negative results of tests of sexually transmitted diseases – AIDS (HIV), Hepatitis B, C, syphilis, HTLV, chlamydia
- there cannot be any genetic predispositions to diseases
- normal karyotype (chromosomes examination)
Steps to become donor of SPERM:
- Fill in the online donors form or give us a phone call +421 903 992 626 or +4212/209 216 99, to agree upon the date of your first appointment.
- If your filled in the online form, an embryologist or IVF Clinic Coordinator will contact you within 24 hours.
- You will have the first consultation at the agreed time and hand over sperm in the sperm collection room, the ejaculate will be then analysed.
- If the result of spermogram meets the required criteria, we will draw your blood to test it for sexually transmitted diseases and you will undergo a genetic examination.
- If the results of all tests are negative, you will be registered in a donation programme.
- You will attend several blood draws within the following 2 – 3 weeks.
- All samples will be in 180 days lasting quarantine after the last blood draw is complete. During this period of time, the samples cannot be used. After 180 days period lapses, the embryologist from our clinic will contact you to attend a follow-up blood draw to test sexually transmitted diseases. If the results of these tests are again negative, your sperm will be released from quarantine and used to treat our patients.
A suitable donor will attend 5-10 blood draws, our clinic fully reimburses donors’ costs associated with the donation (travel expenses, accommodation, meals, proven additional costs, time spent at the clinic, discomfort) up to 600€.
