“Social freezing” cryopreservation of oocytes
After collecting oocytes during hormonal stimulation it is possible to freeze them. This method is preferred when it comes to female patients before any oncological treatment. Beside this it is used for female patients who wish to freeze their oocytes and store them for later use.
Cryopreservation of embryos
Cryopreservation is a process enabling storing frozen embryos for later use. Embryos are frozen in cases when the fertilization results in more quality embryos then may be possibly transferred into womb or in case of unexpected health problems of the patient. Frozen embryos can be used for transfer after unsuccessful treatment or as the second transfer of a successful cycle. Main advantages of this method are the facts that a woman does not have to undergo difficult hormonal hyperstimulation of ovaries.
Cryopreservation of sperm
When serious deviations from spermogram standard are detected, which can be often progressive and can rapidly intensify as the age progresses, we recommend to freeze sperm before critical state occurs.
This especially concerns:
- risky occupation – military missions, work with high radiation or higher concentration of toxic substances
- cancer – patients before or after chemo/radio therapy
- unhealthy lifestyle (smoking, alcohol, unhealthy eating habits)
- postponing of parenthood – increasing fragmentation of DNA
- spine injuries
Germ cells are stored in cryobank at temperature -196 °C.
